Our Commitment to Our Students & Their Families
Because the safety and well-being of our families remains our #1 priority, we are continuing to follow CDC guidelines, keeping our locations sanitized and safe.
The world has changed in recent months, but water safety remains as important as ever. That’s why we continue to equip children with all the life-saving skills they need to become safe and confident swimmers for life.

The Aqua-Tots Full Circle of Safety
It has taken time for our community to adjust to the new recommendations by local health officials, but our Aqua-Tots family has found a comfortable rhythm to resume swim lessons in our clean, safe environment. We’re here to make this transition as safe as possible so your children can get back to developing their swimming skills.
Additionally, we want to remind you that a properly maintained and sanitized pool is considered a safe environment for children and families. According to the CDC,
“There is no evidence that the virus that causes COVID-19 can be spread to people through the water in pools, hot tubs, spas, or water play areas. Proper operation and maintenance (including disinfection with chlorine and bromine) of these facilities should inactivate the virus in the water.”
We have developed the Aqua-Tots Full Circle of Safety which focuses on a modified swim school environment for the health of our families and staff, safety of our swim lessons and cleanliness of our facility. This includes:
- Daily wellness checks for all staff
- Asking our families to limit only one parent/guardian and no additional children attending the class
- Lesson start times will be staggered to ensure we have a controlled flow through the school
- Enhanced school-wide sanitation procedures throughout the day
- Hand sanitizing stations for continuous use
- Limiting the number of people in the lobby and in the pool area
- Curriculum adjustments to reduce face contact during lessons
- Increased pool chemistry checks throughout the day
- Face masks for front desk staff
- Tables and chairs adjusted or marked to meet social distancing guidelines
- Play area temporarily closed
- Swimsuit dryers, hair dryers, and hand dryers temporarily unavailable
- All teaching tools used in our lesson will be disinfected between classes
We are asking our families to arrive only 5 minutes before their scheduled class time so we can control the flow and the number of people in our facility.

Swim Lessons for Babies, Toddlers and Children as Early as Four Months Old
Since 1991, Aqua-Tots Swim Schools has been committed to saving lives, one swim lesson at a time. We teach children to swim. All ages. All abilities. All year. All over the world.
Frequently Asked Questions
What age should my child start lessons?
We recommend that children start swim lessons as early as 4 months old, but if your child is older than that, it’s always a good time to start! The proven Aqua-Tots curriculum is designed to teach children of all ages and abilities how to become safe and confident swimmers for life.
Why does Aqua-Tots recommend year-round swimming lessons?
Participating in year-round swim lessons is the most effective way for your child to become a safe and confident swimmer and helps them retain more knowledge for longer periods of time. Swimming occasionally throughout the year can create a gap in swimming skills. Children may then have to relearn those skills upon returning to swim lessons instead of immediately jumping into new skills.
What is your student to instructor ratio?
We provide small class sizes to help ensure a safe environment for your child to learn to swim.
- Our Group Lessons have a maximum of 4 students to 1 instructor—one of the lowest ratios in the industry.
- Our Semi-Private Lessons have a class ratio of 2 students to 1 instructor.
- Our Private Lessons provide one-on-one instruction.
How long are swim lessons?
Swim lessons at Aqua-Tots Swim Schools last 30 minutes. We’ve found this to be the ideal length of time that young children can focus and learn while still having fun.
When can I sign up for swim lessons?
Families can enroll at any time for lessons. We are open year-round!
What training do your swim instructors have?
All Aqua-Tots Swim Schools Water Safety Instructors (AT-WSI) have completed 40+ hours of intensive in-classroom and in-water training as well as written and in-water exams. All instructors are also required to obtain their CPR Certification prior to receiving their AT-WSI Certification. Instructors continue to be evaluated regularly and participate in monthly training sessions to ensure that your child is in the absolute safest environment.
